So I’m always trying out new products and figured I should create a space her on my Blog, where I can review it for you, and if I film a YouTube video with it, I’ll link it here as well.  I’m calling it ” HOT NEW MAKEUP” so whenever you see this Tag you know its a NEW product review YAY!!!

Enough chit-chat, let’s get straight into today’s Product review which is the AWESOME new Revlon Colorstay Creme Eye Shadows. I honestly just walked into Truworths the other day and these beauties caught my eye. I didn’t even know what they were, but they looked all beautifully coloured on the shelf, that I had to stop and take a closer look at them.  There were about 12 shades (I think) in the range and all are bright and beautiful 🙂

I immediately started swatching them and fell even more in love with them, they were subtle but intense at the same time – LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!  It was weird for me coz usually I know about products before they land on the shelves in SA, due to me following so many US beauty bloggers and YouTubers, but this one came from nowhere? I hadn’t heard about these before at all! The lady at the Revlon counter in the store said it just launched that week- so I was super excited to grab a few shades to try out.

My immediate thought when I first swatched them was, “WOW this would make a really nice cream highlighter” as I love layering powder highlighters over cream on my face, but if you love creme So I bought 2 shades, and I paid R99.95 each, which I thought was a great price point. The product comes in a glass pot, with a plastic lid (like most gel eyeliners) but the interesting thing about this lid is that it has a brush applicator slotted into it – that actually comes out quite easily. Now, I don’t really care for brushes that come with makeup products I usually don’t ever use them, but I thought this one looked good. I prefer using my fingers with creme products. You also get 5.2g of product in each pot which is quite a bit, so should last a long time. The other nice thing about this product is that it had a tamper-proof plastic wrapper over the entire jar and lid, so I was guaranteed that no one had opened my pot and stuffed their finger in LOL, and it’s way better than opening those cello-taped wrappers that most stores put on makeup products that do not come with tamper-proof coverings on them. I hate the residue that the cello-tape leaves behind on my new product 🙁 So you won’t have a messed up product here another YAY!

The 2 shades I picked up are 710 and 725. 710 is a more Rose Gold shade, which I thought goes really well on darker skin tones, like myself, and remembering I was purchasing these more to use as a creme highlighter rather than a creme eyeshadow.

Here are some swatches on my skin tone of Shade 710:

This shade,710, is my favourite of all the shades in the range, and now here are the swatches of shade 725. This is more of a yellow gold shade and again I was thinking of a good face highlighting shade when I chose these shades.

Here are the swatches of shade 725 on a darker skintone:

If you are getting excited over these swatches then here are both of them swatched next to each other, you will notice they are very different to each other:

So if you were doubting where or not you wanted to purchase these, hope I managed to give you a better insight into the product. I have used them both as an Eyeshadow and as a Cheek highlight and they didn’t disappoint me. I now am even more keen to try out some other shades.

FINAL VERDICT  YAY or NAY? –  Definitely a YAY for me

Revlon Colorstay Creme Eye Shadow definitely a YAY
